Baker Ross Celebrating 50 years
Posted on August 9th, 2024 in Harlow Business Case Study
It all started when Patti Baker’s husband acquired a small fundraising company supplying toys to schools and organisations. Over the years under founder Patti Baker’s guidance the company grew. The company is family owned with Patti’s son Paul Baker joining the company and becoming CEO 25 years ago. With their growth came the need for more space, Baker Ross moved to Harlow in 2017 and continued to outgrow their premises, leading to their move into the Icon Harlow in the Pinnacles, a 98,533 sq ft. space where they employ over a 100 staff.
This year is Baker Ross’ 50th anniversary. When discussing how best to celebrate the occasion, Patti Baker who continues to work at Baker Ross as their Creative Director, wanted to do something to benefit local families and customers, as they enabled Baker Ross to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Baker Ross are undertaking 50 charitable deeds. As of writing, they are 28 good deeds through and continue to ask their customers what good deeds they would like for the community. So far, they have collected for the local foodbank, donated picnic benches to Harlow Town Park, donated new bins and 100 craft goody bags to Harlow Pets Corner, dropped off cakes and fruit to nurses and given teddies to the PAH children’s ward, knitted premature baby hats for the hospital and donated over 500 free craft supplies to Harlow primary schools.
They are also running a new product idea competition, giving the opportunity for product ideas to become a reality, all profits generated from the winning idea will go to Baker Ross’ charity partners. Baker Ross is also looking for their longest standing customer so that they can celebrate them and say thank you.
