For several years, Home from Home Childcarers (HFH) has been providing exceptional childcare from their base in Old Harlow. In an exciting development, the team has now expanded and opened a second setting within the Latton Bush Centre. Owner and Manager Linda proudly announced the new opening, transferring some of the dedicated and experienced team to the brand-new nursery and pre-school.

Nestled within this popular location, Home from Home Childcarers has renovated and revitalized a large space within Latton Bush. Equipped with the latest amenities to support education and play, the new site includes brand-new playrooms, bathrooms for little ones, kitchens, and a large outdoor space with a sandpit, messy play area, slides, and everything else you’d expect for fun-filled days. The HFH Latton Bush setting is managed by Chrissie, a dedicated and passionate childcare professional who has been part of the HFH team since 2018. We asked Chrissie what makes her new setting so special, and she said:

“I am so proud of our new space here at Latton Bush. It really has been a complete transformation of the space and I’m proud of what we have created. Taking over the space has been long awaited, but I am so pleased to be a part of this and to lead the team here. It’s clean, crisp, and modern, with all the modifications we needed to support our children. We look after children aged 6 months to 4 years and are passionate about providing excellent care to all children including those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), our aim is to create a space where everyone is welcome.”

As part of the phased opening, HFH Latton Bush has opened two rooms for the over 2s and under 2s. Eventually, all three rooms will open, including a baby room, a toddler room (ages 2-3 years), and a pre-school room (ages 3-4 years). This means the setting will have the capacity to cater to around 50 children, all tended to by a large and caring team of staff. One of the core values HFH Childcarers prides itself on is the ratio of children to staff, ensuring that rooms are overstaffed where possible to provide the best possible care. The team comprises pre-existing staff who eagerly volunteered to move to the new setting, plus some new starters. HFH does not use agency staff, ensuring regular and familiar faces for the children. With various childcare providers working under different models, we asked Chrissie to tell us more about their setup, and she said:

“We are open from 08:00 am – 06:00 pm Monday to Friday, offering both term-time and year-round childcare, closing for two weeks at Christmas. We accept funded-only, part-funded, or fully private placements. We work with families and carers to find the best fit for them and their little ones. We’re working hard to make sure the setting is accessible for everyone, tailoring to individual needs where appropriate. And we use our BabyDays App to provide daily updates on your little ones, so you can keep tabs on naps, snacks, and play. We are honestly so excited to welcome everyone.”

HFH Childcare also prides itself on supporting all groups. Manager Chrissie is the Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO), designated Safeguarding Lead, and Health and Well-being Officer. The team is well-positioned to care for families as a whole, with strong links to local organizations that provide family support services like Bump2Five, Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Services, Integration Support, and more. The team’s support goes well beyond the door, with a friendly welcome in times of need.

The vibrant new setting builds on HFH Childcarers’ long history of care and dedication to supporting children to develop, thrive, and have fun. Chrissie and the team have already made a great start in fostering a beautiful space that feels relaxed and calm, while also bustling with activities and play. The team is looking to build further with a recruitment drive to find more passionate staff who are Level 3 Qualified in childcare and eager to become part of a supportive team.
